This Olympus D-100 is small, smooth and very easy to handle. This no-frills camera takes point and shoot pictures with ease, or you can adjust the exposure and white balance if desired with relatively easy controls.
The camera is about the size of a cellular phone and just as portable. The Brio D-100 offers a fast start-up time of less than one second. The built-in flash, autofocus, self-timer, tripod mount and viewfinder provide all the normal camera functions one would normally need. A USB cable for downloading images and a video cable for a viewing your images on a TV are also included.
Great for closeups, web photos and ebay pictures
The 1.3 megapixels resolution is fine for small photos and great for web site, or eBay picture images ! Plus your picture files are smaller and don't take as much space to store, or time to process or transfer. Bigger is not always better...

And the excellent close focus capability (.4 to 19 inches) of the Macro mode on this camera allows it to do wonderfull closeups of models, coins, trademarks, condition details, or what ever you need !
No special batteries are required for the D-100, just two regular AA types work fine. But I would recommend getting 4 AA rechargables and a charger for more then infrequent usage. Or, you can use an extenal power supply (not included).
In addition to the standard D-100 accesories this package includes an extra 32 megabyte Smart media card to prvide plenty of space to store images on a trip or at a party. As well as a USB Smart Media Card Reader (with software). I found it a lot easier to pop the memory card out of the camera and into the card reader attached to my PC or Mac to download images. The procedure for connecting the camera directly to a PC with the special USB cable was more trouble and sucked battery power. Windows® 2000, Windows ME and Mac OS 8.6 and higher will mount and recognize the Brio D-100 automatically.
I have used this fine little camera gently, and would have kept it, except that I recieved a newer camera for Christmass. My new camera has a lot more features, which can be confusing at times. and it is clumsier to handle, making me remember the D-100 fondly. But I now need some of those advanced features and can't afford to keep both cameras. So you can benefit from my problem !
